Settled and pre-settled status
The EU Settlement Scheme ended yesterday (30th June 2021). If you are an national of the countries listed below, or a family member (Spouse, Unmarried partner, Child, Parent, Sibling) you MUST apply to the scheme, and give your reasons for late application This is even if you have previously applied and was granted Registration Certificate, 5 year residence or Permanent Residence status documents particularity documents issued in March 2019 or earlier.

The following nationalities makes you an EEA national thus must apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to lawfully reside in the UK.
The European Economic Area countries
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. Also Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and Switzerland
If you are a national of one of these countries and have lived in the UK prior to 31 December 2020, you would usually qualify for settled and pre-settled status. Your family members regardless of their nationality must also apply for a status.
What is settled status?
EU nationals living in the UK have until 30 June to apply to stay in the UK.
They can apply for:
Settled status – on offer to anyone who can prove that they had been in the UK continuously for five years or more before 31 December 2020. As of 31 May, it has been granted to 2.75 million people.
Pre-settled status – on offer to anyone who had been in the UK for less than five years by the end of 2020. As of 31 May, it has been granted to 2.28 million. They can apply for settled status in future, but there is no guarantee they will get it.
You can apply using the EU Exit mobile application, Home Office website or via paper application post. As there is little time left it is best to apply using the app or online. It can be difficult to use the app or know what to do on the website. This is where some professional help could make a huge difference.
Once you have completed your details and that of your EEA sponsor. You must then upload supporting documents. You may also be required to post your passport and upload your supporting documents. This can be tricky at times. Also you may be required to provide your fingerprints. Appointments are difficult to obtain and can cost up to £400.
